Backlighting - makes two main roles in the keypads:

1.       a spotlight, which is reduced to the role of the signaling status of the device or selected feature

2.     spread for operating the keypad in poor lighting conditions.

Spotlighting is usually implemented through:

• SMD LED embedded into the keypad

• LED located in the front panel or enclosure covered with a transparent area made in the keypad

Spread lighting can be achieved through:

• EL Lamp

• fiber-optic  mat

• Foil or plate  LGF TYPE
